Welcome to Birch Island Spring 2010 Ice Out was April 4, and the loons were on the water right away. Weather is warm and sunny, which is completely out of character for Spring in this part of the world. New this year will be an outhouse at juniper Ridge, and a chipper to help us care for some of the forest on Birch Island. This is the start of our 10^th year at Birch Island.
